  • Respect and Courtesy: Volunteers must remain courteous to all devotees and fellow volunteers, upholding a respectful environment.
  • Commitment: Volunteering is a commitment. Please inform the Committee Chair or Scheduling Coordinator of any absences to allow for smooth coordination.
  • Flexibility: Volunteers should be prepared to adapt to any schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Adherence to Tradition: Volunteers are expected to respect Hindu traditions and follow all cultural guidelines, including the dress code, as set by Temple Management.
  • Inclusivity: Our temple welcomes devotees of all faiths. HATCC reserves the right to limit or revoke volunteer participation if necessary.
  • Liability: HATCC is not responsible for any injury, disability, or loss of belongings within the temple premises.

Waiver of Liability
This Waiver of Liability (the “Waiver”) is executed by the undersigned volunteer (“Volunteer”) in favor of Hindu American Temple and Cultural Center (HATCC), a non-profit tax-exempt organization operating under the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA.

By signing this Waiver, I, the Volunteer, voluntarily agree to participate in activities at HATCC and acknowledge and accept the following terms:

  1. Release of Liability:
    I release and discharge HATCC, its officers, employees, agents, and successors from all claims, liabilities, and demands arising out of my volunteer activities. This includes, but is not limited to, any bodily injury, illness, death, or property damage that may occur while volunteering. I understand that this Waiver exempts HATCC from liability for such incidents and does not obligate HATCC to provide financial or medical assistance in the event of injury or other losses.
  2. Assumption of Risk:
    I acknowledge that volunteer activities may involve inherent risks, including but not limited to working near individuals who may not be in peak physical or mental health. I accept and assume all such risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and waive any claims against HATCC for resulting harm or damages.
  3. Medical Treatment:
    I release HATCC from any claims arising from first-aid treatment or other medical services provided during my volunteer work. I agree that HATCC is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred due to injuries or illnesses sustained while volunteering.
  4. Insurance Disclaimer:
    I acknowledge that HATCC does not provide health, accident, or disability insurance for volunteers. I waive any claims for compensation or liability beyond what may be voluntarily offered by HATCC in case of injury or other expenses.
  5. Fitness to Volunteer:
    I affirm that I am physically and mentally fit to perform the duties assigned to me. If it is determined that I am unable to perform my duties, I accept that HATCC may take appropriate action, including terminating my volunteer services, without liability.
  6. Photographic and Media Release:
    I grant HATCC full rights to use any photographs, video, or audio recordings taken during my volunteer activities for promotional or other purposes. I waive any claims for royalties or other benefits derived from such use.
  7. Governing Law and Severability:
    This Waiver is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. If any provision of this Waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms shall remain in full force and effect.
